WELCOME TO
THE 3RD ANNUAL CHINESE CHARACTER ART EXHIBITION
INTRODUCTION
In order to introduce students to the wonderfully creative and expressive world of Chinese characters and to help them understand the meaning and enjoy the process of learning Chinese characters, we initiate the Chinese Character Art Project in 2020.
The 1st Chinese Character Art Exhibition has received support from the Harvard Elson Family Arts Initiative Fund. The final artworks of students were displayed on a virtual exhibition platform that was visited by 1600+ people. The 2nd Chinese Character Art Exhibition was held offline at the Harvard Vanserg Building and was similarly successful. During the two years, we received hundreds of artworks from students and much positive feedback for the event from participants and audience, especially from students during the pandemic who expressed how the projects helped them express their emotions and improved their mental health during that time.
As we just enter the year 2023, we are proud to announce the 3rd Chinese Character Art Exhibition. This event will be held from mid-January to mid-April. Unlike the previous exhibitions, this year students who are enrolled in a Chinese language course from all U.S. colleges and universities are welcome to participate. Students whose works are selected for the top 10 will be awarded with gifts.
